I liken it to the NTSB investigating foreign air disasters. Imagine if this was committed by 10-15 well armed and trained shooters. Wouldn't we be better off knowing as much about it as possible? Dissect their tactics, identify the security failures, suspects, etc..

Don't see what the big deal is. The Phalanx pictured has been tested and deployed for nearly 30 years now. Also, we used a modified Phalanx dubbed C-RAM in Iraq for protecting our bases from mortar and rocket fire. Good thing we did as it surely saved lives.
